
Chess for Hope
Chess for Hope aims to use the game of chess as a tool to empower children from underserved communities, including those from internally displaced persons (IDP) backgrounds, orphans, and children in development habitats. By teaching chess in Greece, India, and Burkina Faso, the project enhances cognitive skills, emotional well-being, and social integration. Through structured workshops, chess clubs, and
competitions, the initiative seeks to foster critical thinking, self-confidence, and asense of community among children aged 5-16.

Activities and Initiatives
Training Workshops:
Conduct beginner and intermediate chess lessons led by professional trainers or trained volunteers, focusing on basic strategies, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Weekly Chess Clubs:
Organize regular chess club meetings in participating communities to promote
consistent practice, foster a sense of belonging, and encourage friendly competition.
Competitions & Events:
Host monthly or quarterly chess tournaments to motivate participants,
celebrate their achievements, and promote a sense of accomplishment.
Digital Chess Education:
Provide online resources and platforms for independent practice and continued
learning, ensuring children have access to chess materials even outside the training sessions.
Nutritional Support:
Offer snacks during training sessions to support the children's physical well-
being and ensure they are properly nourished during learning.
Community Involvement:
Engage community leaders and local volunteers in organizing and supervising the activities, creating a supportive environment for the children and strengthening community ties.

(provides chess sets), Educachess (provides teaching materials), and local
ministries to ensure smooth implementation and long-term sustainability.
