Transforming Lives Through Chess and Personalized Learning with the Google Gemini App: The Power of FIDE’s Social Chess Year 2025
Kenya,Mombasa
This project uses chess as a powerful educational and rehabilitative tool, particularly within underserved communities and correctional institutions in Kenya. In partnership with the Shimo La Tewa Borstal Institution in Mombasa, the program introduces chess to young offenders as a means to foster discipline, critical thinking, and emotional resilience. The initiative also integrates the Google Gemini AI app to provide personalized learning experiences and real-time feedback, making chess education more accessible and adaptive. The program supports FIDE’s 2025 Year of Social Chess, promoting the game as a tool for social impact, inclusion, and cognitive development.
